Curtains

  • The first and foremost tip is to treat the entire bay window as one single unit. If you treat the window individually, then there are chances that the window will look cluttered and at the same time, lose its elegance.
  • Installing valances along with blinds will render a beautiful look to your bay window. These valances and blinds will ensure that you have the required privacy at all times of the day. Valances help in decorating the window and make it look good immaterial of the fact, whether you have left the blinds open or closed.
  • The other option is to decorate the bay window by using bay window curtain rods. To hide the curtain rods of the bay windows you can make use of valances. They will serve a dual purpose. Along with hiding the curtain rods, valances will also help accentuate the beauty of the bay area. There are decorative curtain rods for bay windows which are now available as well. If you use decorative curtain rods, you might not have to use valances.
  • Floor length curtains can be hung on these curtain rods. The advantage of using floor length curtains is, that, when you can draw them away from the window to the sides, and you can enjoy the entire length of the bay window. There are also rod pocket curtains which can be used to compliment the bay window area. A huge variety of colors and patterns are available in these rod pocket curtains.
  • You can install valances along with drapes as well. This is just another way of decorating the bay window. The drapes can be hung on the outsides and the valances can be used in between the drapes. The combination of valances and drapes will render a very tasteful look to your bay window.
